Sundance burst out laughing, nearly dropping the sparrow as she did. Whiskers twitching in amusement, she kept padding forward. "I didn't think of it at the time." She grinned.

Midnightstorm kept padding along side the deputy, not bothering to answer. Sure, it was alright if she got mad at him, but he really wasn't at liberty to lash out in a temper against the deputy. 'Of course you didn't. You just take every chance you get to blame me for something.' he thought bitterly, flattening his ears at the reminder he'd just given himself that his tormentor was padding right beside him.

Sundance didn't mind his silence. Though she felt a little bad for lashing out at Midnightstorm, over all she didn't really care. Something about him just bugged her. Besides, even though the vole could be spared, it doesn't mean it should have. It won't hurt for Thunderclan warriors to be quieter hunters anyways.

Picking up his pace a little, Midnightstorm trotted ahead, remembering that he'd burried a thrush around here. He quickly dug it up and added it with everything else he was carrying before padding back to Sundance. He stared pointedly ahead, trying to ignore the deputy for the moment while letting his mind wander. 'The next Gathering's coming up soon. It's been a while since I've seen Moonfrost and Pigeonwing, even when I've been on WindClan border patrol.'[/i] he thought, stepping over a tree root as his flank brushed against a tree while he wasn't paying attention.

Sundance had never liked being ignored, even if it was by Midnightstorm. "Where'd you find that?" She asked, indicating the thrush with her noise. "I haven't seen one in moons." Small talk also annoyed her, but she had no other choice. Being ignored was worse.

Midnightstorm flicked his tail toward the direction of the tree he'd just brushed against before shrugging. He wasn't even going to try and talk with this much prey in his mouth. He picked up his pace, sensing that Sundance was getting annoyed. The sooner he could get back to camp and drop off the fresh-kill, the less time he'd have his fur ruffled the wrong way by the creamy ginger she-cat who had a habit of being a littly grumpy around him.

Sundance padded on in silence the rest of the way. Was I acting too hostile? I mean, sure I do snap at him alot but that's nothing knew. I snap at tons of cats! Why is this bothering me? Fur still ruffled in annoyence, Sundance was happy to see the Thunderclan entrance. She trotted over to the fresh-kill pile and placed the sparrow down on it. Looking around the clearing hopefully, longing for someone, anyone other then Midnightstorm to talk to.

Midnightstorm dropped what he'd caught while hunting in the fresh-kill pile before padding over to one of the choppy rocks that were scattered near one side of the walls of rock that surrounded the camp. He hopped onto one before sprawling out and resting his chin on the warm rock and narrowing his amber eyes. With a sigh of contentment, he let his mind wander, hoping that maybe, just maybe, Sundance would get off of his case for a day or so. "Hey Sundance, why don't you come relax? After all, you seem just a little bit grumpier than usual." he mewed quietly without looking up. He really didn't feel like seeing the glare that the creamy she-cat would definitely be giving him.

After survaying the clearing and seeing no one else to talk to, Sundance sighed. She turned and looked up at Midnightstorm on the rock as she sat beneith it. "Relax?" She mewed, tail twitching with irritation. "Relaxing is for cats who are happy with just a full belly! There are patrols to plan, prey to be caught, boarders to be protected. This is survival Midnightstorm! Relax or let your guard down and your as good as the thrush." She flicked her tail to the dead thrush. Most of this had just slipped out. This was showing a little more of Sundances thoughts then she wished. She looked around the clearing again, not wanting to meet Midnightstorms eyes.

"Ya think I don't know that? No cat can ever be truely relaxed except a pampered kittypet. But taking a little time to calm down and rest is good so you aren't worn out and dead on your paws on the patrols." Midnightstorm pointed out gruffled, turning his head to look back at the wall of rock behind him. He was getting annoyed enough as it was without Sundance pointing out everything. After all, he knew over half of what she was saying, but was probably just going to ignore it anyways. "Good StarClan, do you have to take everything so literally?" he grumbled under his breath.
