Prologue:
On a dark half moon night, Jadefur and Bluepaw padded toward Moon cave. They were excited because they hadn't had any word from StarClan in a long time, they needed something. They headed inside of the cave and looked around, just in time the moon was almost in place. The two cats sat inside the ring of boulders and soon fell asleep...
A beautiful gold tabby padded toward the two cats. " Sky will spill blood, Sun and Night shall stand together to save the trees" she said solumly...
Jadefurs eyes shot open, he looked at Bluepaw who was already awake. " This CAN'T be good" he said to her.
Chapter 1:
In the camp all was quiet. Solarstar was sleeping soundly under her rock overhang, when she felt a paw tap her shoulder. She opened one eye and saw it was Jadefur with a worried look on his face.
"I got bad news," he said to her. Solarstar sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
"what is it?" She asked sleepily.
"i got a new prophecy, Shinestar said 'Sky will spill blood, Sun and Night shall stand together to save the trees'" Jadefur replied. Just as Jadefur had finished Metalfang, the deputy, padded up.
"i thought i herd talking, is everything okay?" he asked worriedly
"yes, could you round up a morning patrol please?" Solarstar replied, Metalfang nodded and padded off "Can you and Bluepaw try and figure this out?" she said to Jadefur.
"We'll try, but we might just have to wait until it happens" he said solemnly as he padded off to the hollowed out log that was the medicine cats den.
Metalfang, Nightmask and Petalpaw padded along the edge of their territory sent marking, when they saw something terrible,
"Its Grasspaw from the Night Clan!" Petalpaw squeaked, there lying in the dirt was the small barely breathing body of Grasspaw, patches of fur were torn off, he had a large gash along his flank and his leg seemed to be broken.
"help me bring him back to camp Petalpaw, and Nightmask keep a watch over the boarder. We need to get him to Jadefur." Metalfang mewed.
Chapter 2:
Jadefur was quietly organizing some herb with Bluepaw, when he herd the commotion outside. He stepped out into the sun light and saw the blood splattered on the ground oh no! he thought. The young medicine cat ran quickly over to the dying cat.
"What happened?" he demanded "Bring him into my den!". A couple cats picked up the limp sorrel and red body and brought him to the den.
"We don't know what happened we found him like this" Nightmask answered.
"Please help him" Petalpaw cried helplessly. They lay Grasspaw down on a patch of moss and Jadefur began to patch up his wounds with cobweb.
"Bluepaw get me some Comfrey please." he said quickly, the small apprentice came back with the plant and started to chew it. She spat it out and removed the cobwebs. After she applied it she put the cobwebs back on.
"Do you want me to go get some poppy seed in case he wakes up?" Bluepaw asked.
"Yes please" replied Jadefur.
A few days later Grasspaw slowly opened his gold eyes.
"Were am I? owww, and why do i hurt so much?" He asked weakly.
Jade fur padded up to him,"Your in Sun Clan camp, you broke your leg and got some pretty nasty wounds. You should be okay in a few more days though, What happened?" The soft kind tone in his voice made Grasspaw feel safe.
"I was attacked by Cloudpelt," he replied with a cough and fell back asleep. Jadefur shook his head. Sky Clan he thought to himself.
Chapter 3:
Over the next few weeks Jadefur took care of Grasspaw, but the Night Clan began to wonder what had happened to him. Near midday on the 9th day that Grasspaw was in Sun Clan, Shadowrose came looking for him.
"Why is my kit here?" she asked suspiciously.
"He was attacked by Cloudpelt of the Sky Clan, he needed to be taken care of and no one of Night Clan was around." He replied defensively. He padded inside of his den and led Grasspaw out on his shoulder.
"MOM!" Grasspaw shouted and limped over too her to nuzzle her.
"Oh my kit how I've missed you" She cried. She looked over at Jadefur
"I know i shouldn't be doing this but thank you, i will be talking Grasspaw home now" Shadowrose said. Jadefur nodded and watched them walk away with each other. He was still trying too think why Sky Clan attacked a defenseless apprentice.
Snowyheart came bursting into the camp.
"Sky Clan is on our territory!" She shouted. The white she-cat had been on boarder duty with Metalfang and Moonpaw. Solarstar padded out from her den.
"Are you sure?" she asked, she always liked to make sure everything was true before pointing paws.
"YES! i saw them, Metalfang is tracking them and Moonpaw is keeping watch just outside" She replied. Snowyheart jumped up and down frustrated as she watched Solarstar sent out Nightmask and Petalpaw to go help Metalfang. She chased after them. Surly enough a few fox lengths from the entrance of the camp they could smell the arid sent of Sky Clan. Silently they followed the sent. The cats reached a large tree on the other side of the territory Sacred Tree they all thought. The tree was sacred because a Long time ago it was the only tree to survive a great forest fire. Also many cats have visited Star Clan in their dream here. A few moments later Bloodclaw and Cloudpelt stepped out from behind the large tree.
"Guess you caught us" they snarled in unison. Then they began charging at the Sun Clan cause, claws unsheathed. At the first swipe, many Sky Clan cats came pouring out from behind the tree.
Chapter 4:
"Petalpaw get recruits!!" Metalfang yowled swiping at a cat. Petalpaw bounded and sped off toward the camp. She got there soon and galloped up toward Solarstar,
"We need fighters! were being attacked by Sky Clan!!" she panted. Solarstar growled,
"Everyone who is willing to fight gather here and follow me!!" she screeched and headed for the camp entrance. Almost all the cats in the clan followed her, mixes of worry and anger on their faces.They found the skirmish by the Sacred Tree. They let out battle cried and charged forward, the sound of screaming and claws clashing filled the air. There was too many for Sun Clan to handle, they must have recruited rouges.
"Everyone Retreat!!" Solarstar yowled running toward the border of Night Clan. The Sky Clan yowled their victory and began to go inside the Sun Clan camp.
Ashstar lay dozing off in the camp when she herd the cries and mewls of wounded cats near by. Her head shot up like a bullet and she ran toward the border with a few cats. When she saw the wounded and broken Sun Clan her face turned to worry. Solarstar was her sister and she was in desperate need of help, she could at least see what was wrong.
"What happened Solarstar?" she asked.
"We were attacked by Sky Clan, they took over our territory. Please we need somewhere." Solarstar pleaded, rather un-leader like. As they spoke, the rest of the cats of the Sun Clan came bounding toward them, some of them wounded. Ashstar looked at her sympathetically.
"I know this is wrong, but i shall let you stay until we know what to do about Sky Clan" She said. Solarstar nuzzled her sister giving her many thanks and the rest of her clan began to tiredly pad into the Night Clan territory. When they entered the camp they lay down exhausted.
"Tell me exactly what happened" Ashestar said. Metalfang padded up.
"A couple days ago we found Grasspaw wounded, he was covered by the sent of Sky Clan. Then a few days later we smelt the same sent on our territory, and on patrol they came and attacked up at Sacred Tree" he explained. Ashstar nodded understandingly.
"We need to figure out what to do about them" she said darkly.
Chapter 5:
Froststorm sat outside of the Night Clan warriors den. He looked up at the beautiful golden crescent moon that hung lazily from the sky. He was worried about what was going to happen too his, and Ashstar's clans. He herd a twig snap and saw Flamewing coming to wards him. Her flowing ginger pelt swayed in the quiet breeze.
"Hello Froststorm, can't sleep?" The night Clan she-cat asked.
"No. I'm worried. What if we don't get our territory back?" he replied sadly. Flamewing nodded sympathetically and sat down beside him, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws.
"Don't worry, your clan will be fine. You'll see!" she told him reassuringly nuzzling him. In turn he licked her ears. For a while now, he had liked her a lot. He wanted to tell her his feeling but they were from different clans.
"Would you like to bed down with me tonight?" she asked him politely leaning in a little closer. Froststorm smiled.
"Okay" he replied, trying not to sound too enthusiastic. Together the padded back into the warriors den and curled up together.
A yowl rang out through the camp, Ashstar and Solarstar sat together at the lowest branch of great tree. Slowly and tiredly the cats began to gather at the bottom of the tree. Some staying away from the other clan cats, others together kindly chatting.
"As you all know we have guests staying with us. But we need to help them get their territory back" Ashstar said "Solarstar and I are attempting to devise a plan, but if anyone has a plan we would be glad to hear it." Ashstar finished. Solarstar nodded and began to speak.
"I think i speak for every cat in Sun Clan when I say thank you very much for your hospitality. We hope to not take up too much room for long, but as Ashstar said we need plans." Solarstar finished. As she finished Nightmask raised a paw, both Ashstar and Solarstar nodded toward her.
"I have a plan!" she called out deviously.
Chapter 6:
Solarstar grinned
"Tell us then!" She told Nightmask. Nightmask nodded
"Alright, so here it is. Well let the four darkest colored warriors sneak in while their sleeping, and everyone Else hides around the camp, surrounding it completely. The four attack the most important of their clan, and when they start running away, we move in for the attack" She told everyone. Ashstars smile began to grow bigger and more devious as she went on.
"Then its settled, we wait three more days to practice. Then we attack!" She yelled out. Solarstar nodded in agreement. Cats began to walk away, finding their apprentices and practicing their moves. Shadowfang, Nightmask, Darkpelt and Blackfire were all chosen to go on the journey inside the camp. They had all agreed and so it was settled.
Froststorm backed off as Moonpaw took a round at him
"Good, good, keep at it!" He purred happily.He swiped at Moonpaw, but Moonpaw his his paw away and smiled "Am I getting better dad?" He asked
"Much" He meowed back. Moonpaw nodded happily and they continued play fighting. Solarstar padded up,
"Alright, its time to go" She sighed worriedly.
A line of cats in the dark of night surrounded the camp, claws unsheathed. Four chosen cats padded inside the camp quietly. Their dark pelts shimmering in the night. Inside of the leaders den the went, their pelts raising, they lifted their paws and!
